Angels and demons have always been inspiration for storytellers, writers, painters and musicians. Astor Piazzolla composed the first "Tango del Angél" in the late 1950s. More angelic tangos followed in the early 1960s - "L'Introducción al Angél" and "Muerte del Angél", now also written for the 'classical' quintet instrumentation. Perhaps this reflects Piazzolla's life of the soul during this period, which was more devoted to angels, although demons were also part of his life.
In the course of the 1960s, other tangos on angels and demons were written, "Milonga del Angél" and "Resurrección del Angél", and the devil tangos "Tango del Angél", "Romance del Angél" and "Vayamos al Angél". Although they were not originally intended as a suite, it is in context that the strength of each piece becomes apparent - 'simple' tangos of unique simplicity and brilliance.
Tango is dance, tango is music, tango is art - the love of art unites the musicians of the ensemble ChamberJam Europe and is essential for each individual and his instrument. I had the good fortune to know Astor Piazzolla personally. His idea was to overcome time and borders with his music. Everything is subject to change. We participate in this journey with a tribute to the angels and demons.
