Berliner Meister Schallplatten | Ruth Palmer | Johann Sebastian Bach

It was Ruth Palmer's wish to couple Bach's C major Sonata with the E major Partita only. A perfect length for the LP, too short for the CD. So the idea was born to produce this program purely analog only direct-to-disc. Ruth Palmer's Bach recordings are a journey of discovery on many levels. They are testimonies of strength, joie de vivre and deep insight into and preoccupation with Bach. With over 27 minutes playing time for the A-side, this is probably one of the longest direct-to-disc recordings in the history of recordings.

This recording is a direct-to-disc recording from Emil Berliner Studios. Direct-to-disc recordings are the result of intensive preparation and rehearsal time by the artists involved, as well as the sound engineers. The recording is completely analog and is cut directly into a lacquer foil, which is then formed into a pressing matrix in a galvanic process. Each pressed record is thus an original print of this recording.
