"When I first heard Meta4 at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland, I was immediately captivated. Again and again I am impressed by how the four musicians play equally individually and with a cohesive ensemble sound. They seek perfection in expression, not just technically on the surface.

Each of the four is an outstanding soloist, yet above all one hears a very self-contained sound, the interpretation coming from a shared imagination. The artists are not afraid of conventions, they like to explore the limits of timbre and dynamics. The joy of playing, the desire to search for new sounds and the serious examination of the work and tradition always find a good balance.

Jean Sibelius' string quartet op. 56 "Voces Intimae" has been in Meta4's repertoire from the beginning, and the four frequently play it in concert. So it was natural for them to take on the venture of a direct-to-disc production with this piece."
